I've recently started talking to this amazing guy and he is a single father of an adorable two year-old litle boy. Great guy, Army Ranger handsome and freakin adores me, so far. We're only talking right now because he's away training for a mission but will be home in September and we are going to move up from there. My question is, would it be okay to date him? I know the baby's mom isn't in the picture too often but I really like him. I just need an opinion on the whole dating a man with a baby thing. We already talked about what we want, and we both agree on making sure his relationship with his son is a first pirority to anything we could have. I want to take things slow and hold off on meeting Aiden, the little one, until we are sure of things. Lord knows I don't want to hurt that adorable litle boy! Below is a picture of them.

well i say if you think youre ready for that kind of commitment, go for it. it is so much easyer to start when the kids are young. but as far as you guys are going now, i dont see any problem with it. he was up front about the baby, and you are going to take it bit by bit. i say go for it. tammy

I say go for it. Taking things slow is always a plus in these type of occasions. You rush too quickly everything may become a big 'ol mess.

He is with Grandma and grandpa at home. They live with his parents when he's not deployed. Though he did ask me to help him find an apartment or a house when he comes back. He'll be visiting me in September and I'm so excited, though I don't know what to do because he wants me to make plans for us to do things, What should I do?

What does he want you to plan? I mean, for like fun things to do, or how to bump up the 'flavor'? Plan a neat little trip I say.... just so you two can get to know eachother... taking it slow of course... kinda like a impromto road trip. like the old days....

Yeah, I thought about a roadtrip, but where to? He's from Tampa so we couldn't go there and Orlando is out. The only things to do here in High Springs is well, the springs. Trust me, there is going to be no need to bump up the 'flavor' at all. He said he'd be happy just curling up on the couch watching movies at my place. So I don't know. I'll wait a bit longer to plan, at least until I know a round about date of his stay.

Okay, so first off sorry for the double post.
He flies home on September 12th and I'm getting nervous now. We've talked everyday for the past two weeks and he just keeps amazing me every time I talk to him. We're going to Busch Gardens for my birthday, on my birthday. I'm excited, but scared at the same time... What should I do?

You are only saying that because we're friends. I am not a beautiful likable person! I'm mean as hell!
He and I both are getting excited, for two very different reasons. My reason? I get to spend a weekend with him. His reason? He gets to see me and meet my family. YIKES! His idea. Not mine. You KNOW I would put that off for as long as possible. Yeah, so...the first time we get to be together, he wants to meet my family and all that jazz...

Meeting your family right off the bat is a bit weird, but I think he's going for the whole making sure your comfortable thing. And besides you ARE a beautiful, Likable person! You just have your bad moments like everyone else. And besides, if he can't handle you at your worst he shouldn't have you at your best!

Mel youre such a diplomat!! And yes Ash, both are of you are right. You can be mean as hell but you are also a good person. Hell I'm the same way. I feel that I am at heart a good person, but don't piss me off or catch me after a long night, I'm libel to bit your head off. Usually I just go with the flow, but I have been known to kick ass when needed. Lindsay (my Lindz) can attest to that! Tammy

The springs we have here in High Springs are: Poe, Ginnie, Blue, and Lily. In Fort White there is the Itch Spring and river and Rum Island. Branford there is Three River Springs with a tree growing out of the spring itself. Plus at Camp there is a Spring and a water park, a zoo, horse back riding and go karts. A boardwalk and tons of fun things. There is the Sante Fe river here in High Springs and then in Live Oak is the Swannee River. Lot's o fun!

The water park is fun, I'll check to see if the one here in High Springs will be open. You remember my little brother and sister, Mark and Emily? They WORK there. They are freakin old enough to work. Mark will be eighteen in December. Sheesh I feel old!
